The original Eileen Hardy Bin 80 Shiraz was first released in 1973 to mark family matriarch Eileen Hardy's 80th birthday. Aromas of Prune, Chocolate, Ginger & Liquorice. Sweet-fruited with brambly briar, chocolate, touches of prune & spicy oak characters. Fine integrated tannins.

Medium to full purple-red; a rich and full bouquet with masses of ripe black fruits, dark chocolate and some licorice; the oak is potent, but is justified. A wine which takes no prisoners, but which has fantastic palate flavour, bursting with licorice, black cherry/berry and spice flavours surrounded by ultra-sophisticated vanilla oak. 95 points, Wine Companion (10/1997).
