Rivetto Briccolina Barolo 2012 is a distinguished expression of Barolo’s prestigious legacy, masterfully crafted by the Rivetto family, whose winemaking expertise dates back to 1902. Now in its fourth generation, brothers Enrico and his sibling continue to uphold and elevate the winery’s reputation through meticulous attention to tradition and unwavering commitment to quality.

This exceptional 2012 vintage is carefully sourced from a premium private cellar, ensuring outstanding provenance and optimal maturity. Known as the “King of Wines,” Barolo is celebrated for its Nebbiolo grapes that produce complex and bold red wines with impressive aging potential. The 2012 vintage is particularly noteworthy for its balanced structure and expressive aromatics, shaped by ideal climatic conditions that encouraged slow ripening and concentration of nuanced flavors.

Visually, the Rivetto Briccolina Barolo 2012 captivates with deep ruby hues. Its aromatic profile is rich and inviting, combining notes of ripe red cherry, delicate rose petal, and subtle hints of truffle and spice. On the palate, it offers a refined balance of firm tannins and lively acidity, delivering a harmonious mouthfeel that gracefully evolves with every sip. This wine is a true reflection of Piedmont’s unique terroir, showcasing minerality and complexity derived from the region’s limestone-rich soils and steep vineyard slopes.

Critically acclaimed and awarded an impressive 94 points by Falstaff, this Barolo stands among the top echelon of Italian red wines. Such recognition underscores its finesse and exceptional aging potential, securing its place as a prized selection for serious wine collectors and aficionados.

Reviews

Radiant, rich garnet. The nose opens with tart notes of dried bitter orange and cinchona bark, then truffle and dark raspberries. Tight and dense on the palate - lots of ripe berry fruit, especially plum and pickled cherries, alongside earthy tones. A pithy and at the same time elegant Serralunga with a long finish.
