Vietti Rocche di Castiglione Falletto Barolo 2013 is an exquisite expression of one of Italy’s most prestigious wine regions. Hailing from the renowned Barolo appellation, this vintage captures the essence of the Rocche di Castiglione vineyard, known for producing some of the most intoxicating aromatics in Barolo wines.

This Barolo is crafted from Nebbiolo grapes, celebrated for their ability to develop complex aromas and robust structure. The 2013 vintage presents a balance of elegance and power, reflecting the region’s cool climate and unique terroir. The wine’s bouquet is rich with notes of red cherries, rose petals, and hints of licorice, underpinned by subtle earthy nuances that evolve beautifully with aeration.

Due to its youthful tannic backbone and depth, this wine is best enjoyed after prolonged decanting, allowing its layers to fully open. It pairs exceptionally well with game dishes and aged cheeses, enhancing the wine’s intricate flavor profile and silky texture.

Sourced from a premium private cellar, the Vietti Rocche di Castiglione Falletto Barolo 2013 reflects a commitment to quality and tradition. It offers an authentic taste of Barolo’s heritage, perfect for collectors and connoisseurs seeking a sophisticated and rewarding wine experience.

Reviews

The 2013 Barolo Rocche di Castiglione is ample, generous and also surprisingly rich. The more intense, voluptuous side of Rocche comes through loud and clear. Even with all of its textural depth, the Rocche possesses superb aromatic intensity and nuance. The 2013 is an unusually rich, racy Rocche, with tons of mid-palate richness. In many vintages, the Rocche is open-knit and sensual, which gives it a certain amount of early accessibility. I don't see much of that in the 2013. Readers will have to be patient here.
Intense ruby with a fine garnet sheen. A very appealing and complex nose that opens with notes of coriander seeds, then blackberry and plum. Clean, clear and straightforward. Juicy and smooth on the palate thanks to lots of plump, ripe fruit, raspberries and dark cherries. Velvety, dense tannin build toward a very long finish.
