Luciano Sandrone Aleste Barolo 2017 1.5L Magnum offers an exceptional expression of one of Italy's most revered wine regions. Carefully crafted and vineyard-driven, this Barolo is not flashy but intentionally refined, showcasing the meticulous attention to detail that defines Sandrone’s winemaking philosophy.

The 2017 vintage presents a slightly more open profile than the 2016, while maintaining the robust structure typical of Barolo wines, promising an impressive cellaring potential of 10 to 15 years or more. This magnum format enhances the aging process, allowing the wine to develop complex aromas and layered flavors over time.

Originating from a premium private cellar, this Aleste exemplifies the finesse and power of Nebbiolo grapes grown in Barolo’s renowned terroir. The 2017 vintage benefited from ideal growing conditions in Piedmont, producing grapes with perfect ripeness and balanced acidity, which translates into a wine with elegance and depth.

Luciano Sandrone’s Aleste Barolo 2017 is finely stitched with notes of red cherry, wild herbs, and subtle hints of tar and rose petal. Its silky tannins and vibrant acidity create a harmonious structure that makes it suitable for long-term aging, allowing complex secondary flavors to emerge gracefully.

This wine is a compelling choice for collectors and enthusiasts seeking a premium Barolo that combines tradition with modern precision. Enjoy it from 2024 through 2038 to experience its full evolution and expression.

Reviews

Aromas of menthol, pressed rose, wild berry and grilled herb are front and center in this stunning wine along with a whiff of forest floor. Combining structure and finesse, the savory, full-bodied palate delivers juicy Marasca cherry, blood orange and licorice before an espresso finish. Firm, refined tannins provide tight support.
The purity and brightness of nebbiolo is so impressive here. Strawberries and blue fruit abound. Full-bodied, yet tight and very polished with a long, persistent finish. Very transparent and appealing. Drink in 2025 and onwards.
