Domaine Armand Rousseau Clos de Beze Grand Cru 2018 offers a remarkable expression of Burgundy’s prestigious terroir, showcasing the exceptional quality and power of a warm-vintage Clos de Beze. This wine is a concentrated and full-bodied masterpiece, delivering intense aromas and layered complexity that reflect the unique characteristics of one of the Côte de Nuits’ most celebrated Grand Cru vineyards.

This 2018 vintage stands out for its ripe fruit profile and structured tannins, a result of ideal growing conditions that produced wines with remarkable depth and longevity. The Clos de Beze parcel, known for producing elegant yet robust Pinot Noir, benefits from a prime location adjacent to the renowned Chambertin vineyard, offering collectors a high-impact wine at a compelling value.

Extremely limited global availability underscores the exclusivity of this offering, carefully sourced from a premium private cellar to ensure authenticity and exceptional provenance. The wine’s powerful concentration and expressive character make it a coveted addition for enthusiasts and collectors who appreciate the finesse and intensity emblematic of Domaine Armand Rousseau’s legendary style.

With its deep ruby color, the Clos de Beze Grand Cru 2018 reveals layers of dark cherry, blackberry, and subtle spice, complemented by earthy undertones and well-integrated oak nuances. On the palate, it unfolds with richness and precision, culminating in a long, elegant finish that promises excellent aging potential.

Experience the heritage and craftsmanship of one of Burgundy’s most revered producers through this prestigious Grand Cru, whose balance of power and elegance epitomizes the exceptional quality achievable from Clos de Beze in a warm vintage year.

Reviews

Cyrielle serves this wine last as it takes longer to eat its oak. A little bit of reduction related to the oak does indeed show. The barrel also expresses its tannins a little more forcefully at the finish. But these are details which will not affect the long term majesty of this wine which is showing an almost austere concentration of fruit. A marvellous wine but I do not think it will quite challenge the Chambertin. Tasted: November 2019.
The 2018 Chambertin-Clos de Beze Grand Cru was more extroverted during my visit to the Rousseau cellars this year, exhibiting a rich and complex bouquet of smoked meats, ripe cherries, cassis, woodsmoke, nori, blackberries and dark chocolate, framed by a lavish application of cedary new oak. It's full-bodied, fleshy and enveloping, with a ripe core of fruit, powdery tannins and a long, palate-staining finish. The Clos de Beze is more immediate and dramatic than this year's Chambertin.
