Bozal produce some of the most highly sought after Artesanal & Ancestral Mezcal in the world. Producers from rural Oaxaca, Durango and Guerrero produce spirit in small batches, using wild harvested agave and traditional processes. These smaller family producers work together with the Bautista family in San Dionisio Ocotepec and Rio de Ejutla to form the Bozal label. Each batch is different, depending on what species of Agave, and which Maestro Mezcalero was behind it.

Pechuga is a special style of Mezcal, typically only produced in small batches, for celebrations. The Sacrificio method involves the hanging of a small basket of fruit, spices, chile and cooked meat inside the still during the second round of fermentation. resulting in a amped up level of smokiness and richness.

The Bozal Pechuga is produced in small volumes by the Bautista family in the town of Rio de Ejutla, using wild harvested Cuishe agave for a complex flavour profile that is further developed by the sacrificio method, with cooked chicken & local fruits and spices hung inside the still. Expect a gentle minerality, rich mouthfeel and mellow smokiness. Exceptional for collectors and those looking to level up their Mezcal journey.
