Overeem is one of Tasmania's original whisky distilleries.
Founded in 2005 by Casey Overeem, fuelled by a burning passion to make great spirit, the distillery has been through several iterations, now resting in the hands of Casey's daughter Jane, and her husband Mark Sawford since 2019, operating as a family business.
Since then, Overeem has been producing some of Tasmania's best family-owned single malt, winning a wide range of awards both domestically and overseas.
In 2026, Overeem has been awarded not one, but two category-winner Gold Medals at the World Whisky Awards, truly a spectacular achievement for the family operated distillery.
Overeem's Port Cask release is where things all began. Port barrels have been the backbone of the Overeem range, with the darker flavours drawn from the cask complimenting the signature rich spirit of the distillery.
Expect a rich aroma of butterscotch, creme brulee and rum & raisin cake. Beyond that, hints of rosewater, and a distinct toasty note that is synonymous with Port casks.
On the palate, salted caramel, toasted marshmallow and christmas pudding, with dark chocolate and a hint of coffee.
The finish is long and sweet. Dessert in a glass.
