Poderi Aldo Conterno Granbussia Riserva Barolo 2009 stands as an extraordinary testament to the noble Nebbiolo grape, delivering a profound expression of Barolo’s celebrated terroir. Crafted with meticulous care, this Riserva epitomizes depth, structure, and elegance, embodying the essence of traditional Piedmontese winemaking refined over decades.

Following an extensive aging period of 32 months in large Slavonian oak casks, the Granbussia undergoes further refinement with a minimum of ten years maturing in the bottle before release. This deliberate, patient approach ensures a perfectly harmonized wine, rich in complex aromas and flavors. Expect captivating notes of dried cherry, tar, rose petal, and earthy undertones that seamlessly integrate with polished, finely grained tannins, creating a palate that is both powerful and sophisticated.

Originating from one of Barolo’s most revered private cellars, the 2009 vintage benefits from ideal climatic conditions that favored optimal grape ripening. Barolo, often called the “King of Wines,” is renowned for producing age-worthy reds with remarkable structure and finesse, attributes perfectly embodied by this Granbussia Riserva. The 2009 vintage continues this legacy, offering exceptional longevity and a dynamic tasting experience that evolves beautifully over time.

Key highlights include:

  • A monumental Nebbiolo with profound depth, exceptional structure, and steeped in the prestigious heritage of Barolo.
  • Carefully aged for 32 months in Slavonian oak followed by a decade of bottle maturation, ensuring optimal balance and complexity.
  • Hand-selected from a premium private cellar, guaranteeing unparalleled quality and authenticity.

This Granbussia Riserva is not only a remarkable collector’s item but also a refined expression of Barolo’s capacity to deliver wines of grandeur, longevity, and elegant power. Reviews

Aromas of tar, asphalt and dark berries with blackberries and blueberries. Dusty earth, too. Full-bodied, very focused and chewy with ultra fine tannins and a long and flavorful finish. So polished and gorgeous. So drinkable now, after nine years in the cellar of Aldo Conterno. Drink or hold.
Opulent but far from jammy, with aromas of leather and cherries. It’s velvety, with lovely depth of flavour and luxurious tannins, a harmonious wine with no rough edges. Magnificent balance and texture and tremendous length.
