Reviews

Deep garnet in color, the 2005 Amon-Ra displays aromas of pure black currant cordial, dark chocolate, violets and toast with a hint of raw meat and touch of Indian spices. Full-bodied with a taut and muscular frame defined by firm grainy tannins, it is still very youthful and offers fresh, crisp acid that retains nice vibrancy through the long finish. Drink it now until 2020+.
Fine use of French wood here with only 20 percent American oak in the mix. Super dark almost opaque with a peppery, spicy, licorice root, vanilla, black cherry nose with coriander, saddle leather and meaty blueberry notes. Rich on the palate with supple, fine-grained tannins and delicious smoky, vanilla, mocha, licorice, blackberry jam and blueberry fruit flavours. Warm, tart fruity savoury finish. Needs 3-5 years to reach its peak. Good value. (Anthony Gismondi and Stuart Tobe).
