Luciano Sandrone Le Vigne Barolo 2019 Magnum represents an exceptional expression of the Barolo appellation, sourced from a premium private cellar that embodies both tradition and meticulous craftsmanship. The 2019 vintage stands out as a cooler year compared to 2018, offering a remarkable balance that surpasses 2017, combined with a structure evocative of the celebrated 2013 and 2016 vintages.

This Barolo enchants with pure precision wrapped in perfume, delivering a harmonious blend of sensuality and refined elegance. The wine’s poised character showcases the best of Nebbiolo grapes, featuring bright aromatics layered with complex notes of red cherry, rose petals, tar, and subtle earthy undertones. Its well-integrated tannins and vibrant acidity promise excellent aging potential, making it a cellar-worthy treasure.

Crafted in the prestigious Piedmont region, renowned for producing some of Italy’s finest Barolos, the 2019 vintage benefits from ideal climatic conditions that preserved freshness while enhancing depth and complexity. Luciano Sandrone’s dedication to site selection and sustainable viticulture shines through in this magnum bottling, offering enhanced maturation and a fuller expression of the terroir.

This wine perfectly pairs with rich Italian cuisine such as truffle-infused dishes, braised meats, and aged cheeses, but it also rewards patient cellaring, evolving beautifully over the next decade. Experience the balance and finesse of one of Piedmont’s most sought-after producers with the 2019 Le Vigne Barolo Magnum — a sophisticated choice for collectors and connoisseurs who appreciate authenticity and nuanced flavor profiles.

Reviews

Rose, menthol, star anise and baking spice are just some of the aromas that appear on the gorgeous Sandrone Barolo Le Vigne 2019. Focused, elegant and savory, the vibrant palate offers juicy red cherry, spiced cranberry, crushed mint and ground clove before a licorice close. A backbone of fine-grained tannins provide support while bright acidity keeps it impeccably balanced and loaded with energy and tension. What a stunner.
Very aromatic with hibiscus, crab apple, orange blossom, and ripe strawberry on the nose. Full-bodied, very layered and powerful, yet it remains very fine textured with an intense finish. Slightly more structured than before. Perhaps due to the addition of wines from a new vineyard?
