Ca di Bruno is an organic estate based on the Serraboella hill in Piedmonts Barolo commune, where Nebbiolo vines aged between 35 and 75 years give naturally low yields and deep site expression. The 2018 vintage was shaped by a warm summer followed by cooler autumn nights, a pattern that allowed full ripeness while preserving acidity. Grapes were hand picked and fermented traditionally with extended skin maceration to capture tannin structure and aromatic depth. The wine was then matured for 24 months in large Slavonian oak casks, a classic Barolo method designed to soften tannins while maintaining purity of fruit. On release it shows red cherry, dried herb and subtle spice with a savoury earthiness, carried by firm chalky tannins and a fresh acid line. The result is a Barolo that balances early drinkability with structure for further cellaring, true to Serraboellas hillside terroir and to the estates restrained, traditional style.
