The name Ironheart speaks to the reddish ironstone gravel soil and represents the most eloquent expression of Shiraz from our unique estate. This wine aspires to be a powerhouse, yet showcasing perfume and an elegant side to its dense sanguine character and tannin-built structure.

The aroma shows lifted perfumes which will only continue to become more expressive over time. On the palate the power and concentration of the fruit unfolds, with big soft tannins so typical from this site, and the iron-like sanguine finish.

Enjoy with a grilled porterhouse steak.

Reviews

This puts down some roots. It offers a monumental spread of rich, ripe, deep-hearted fruit flavour, plums cascading over boysenberries, though there’s also enough going on around the edges to make complexity a given. The spread of tannin here, the mouth-filling volume, the way it sets flight through the finish; everything is top grade. It’s a commanding wine of emphatic quality, a blockbuster with an elegant turn. Drink 2024 - 2038+
The ironstone that dominates a portion of Yangarra's estate vineyard asserts itself with brawny muscle in this deeply coloured, intense Shiraz. Despite 25% whole bunch in the ferment, the perfume is a dark, smouldering shroud of blackberry, laced with high notes of wild fennel and violets. The palate is linear and precise – partly a reflection of the site, partly the finesse that comes from gentle treatment in the winery – resulting in a big-framed wine that steps lightly on its toes.
