The Corton Grand Cru Les Perrières is grown on a plot of land to the north of Aloxe which is scattered with pebbles - hence the name 'Perrières', meaning 'stones'. This wine is characteristic of the appellation: powerful, full-bodied and highly concentrated, defined by its minerality and fullness. We advise waiting a few years before consuming this wine to allow the tannins to develop. Jean-Nicolas Méo owns vines in the lieux-dits of Grand Mapertuis and Près du Cellier (two very good ones). His Vougeot is marked by richness, concentration, velvety structure, broad aromatics, length, and power. It is a complete wine, and one that merits at least eight years of bottle age before it is enjoyed. One of Burgundy's great estates, Vosne-Romanee based Domaine Meo Camuzet is intrinsically linked to one of the great winemakers of the region, Henri Jayer who consulted to the winery for many years. Currently run by Jean-Nicolas Meo the estates vineyards are farmed organically and include spectacular holdings such as Richebourg, Échezeaux, Clos de Vougeot and the famous Vosne-Romanee 1er Cru, Cros Parantoux, the legendary vineyard made famous by Henri Jayer. Treading the fine edge of power, purity and concentration while retaining a sense of fineness and grace the wines of Meo Camuzet have a stellar track-record for aging and are a much sought by wine collectors

Reviews
The 2016 Corton-Perrières Grand Cru felt a little rustic on the nose and, at least at this precise moment in barrel, felt bereft of the same cohesion as some of Méo-Camuzet’s other crus. There is a light sea influence here—just a distant tang of kelp, something estuarine. The palate is medium-bodied with fine and quite solid tannin. There is impressive density, the 10% stem addition imparting freshness on the composed and harmonious finish. Hopefully the aromatics will up their game and match the quality on the palate
