Reviews
A tiny-production cuvée (700 bottles) that’s also from the Sabarotte and Les Côtes lieux-dits, the 2015 Cornas Terre D'Arce is a big bruiser of a wine that was brought up all in once and twice-used barrels. Chocolate, black fruits, smoked earth, barrique and crushed rock all emerge from this full-bodied, rich, massively concentrated beauty. Possessing no hard edges, tons of ripe tannin and a seamless texture, it needs 3-4 years or more of cellaring, but I suspect it will have two decades of longevity.
This sports a spice box of singed wood, tea, tobacco and incense aromas, backed by a solid core of steeped plum and black currant fruit. Frankly toasty through the finish, with a strong licorice root note matched by fleshy fruit. Best from 2019 through 2028.
