Chapel Hill was founded in 1973 in McLaren Vale, South Australia, on the site of a bluestone chapel built in 1865 that now houses the cellar door. The estate sources fruit from its own blocks and trusted growers across McLaren Vale, reflecting the breadth of the region. The 2018 season was warm and dry, producing Shiraz with ripe concentration balanced by natural freshness. Grapes were picked across a spread of sites, fermented in small batches to preserve vineyard character, and matured in French and American oak hogsheads, mostly seasoned, to add gentle spice and texture. The resulting wine shows blackberry and plum fruit layered with chocolate and regional spice, framed by supple tannins and a rounded finish.
