Lindemans, founded in 1843 by Dr Henry Lindeman in the Hunter Valley, has been one of Australias most recognisable names in wine and maintains a long tradition of fortified production through holdings in Rutherglen. Tokay Solera WH2 NV is produced from muscadelle, the grape historically known in Australia as tokay, sourced from the warm vineyards of Victorias northeast. The wine is fortified to arrest fermentation and matured in seasoned oak casks within a solera system that layers parcels of different ages. Older components contribute rancio depth, malt, toffee and roasted nut characters, while younger material provides freshness and lift, ensuring balance across the blend. Bottled as a non vintage expression, Tokay Solera WH2 reflects the continuity of Lindemans craft in fortified winemaking and stands as a reference point for Australian topaque style, combining historical legacy with the richness that defines the Rutherglen tradition.
