Overeem is one of Tasmania's original whisky distilleries.

Founded in 2005 by Casey Overeem, fuelled by a burning passion to make great spirit, the distillery has been through several iterations, now resting in the hands of Casey's daughter Jane, and her husband Mark Sawford since 2019, operating as a family business.

Since then, Overeem has been producing some of Tasmania's best family-owned single malt, winning a wide range of awards both domestically and overseas. In 2026, The Overeem PX Matured Release was awarded Best in Category for Small Batch Australian Single Malt (12 Years & Under) at the World Whisky Awards, as well as being a Top 5 finalist for Worlds Best Small Batch Single Malt.

Overeem's Pedro Ximinez Matured Batch #2 is shaping up to be another truly special release. With only 750 bottles in this batch, there's not much to go around, especially with just how popular the first batch was.

Matured in Pedro Ximinez casks imported directly from Spain, this exotic wood is a huge jump from the domestic Port & Sherry casks from South Australia Overeem typically uses.

At 52%, you are treated to a balanced flavour profile, Christmas cake spices and dried fruits on the nose, fig and date jam on the palate with a signature dry spice from the PX cask, with a finish that lingers on the back of the tongue. There is plenty to sit on with this whisky, and yet it is still approachable.
