The Irishman Cask Strength Whiskey 700ml
Blended Irish Whiskey - 54.9% ABV | Walsh Whiskey, Carlow, Ireland
Power and Poise from County Carlow
Released annually in limited quantities since 2008, The Irishman Cask Strength represents the pinnacle of Walsh Whiskey's portfolio - a bold, barrel-proof marriage of aged single malt and single pot still whiskey. Each batch is triple distilled and matured in first-fill American oak ex-bourbon casks before bottling at natural cask strength, with no chill filtration or added colour. Presented with individual batch and bottle numbers, it is a rare showcase of Irish whiskey's full-bodied potential, drawn straight from the cask.
On the nose, ripe red apple, toffee, toasted oak and a flash of fresh ginger give way to vanilla bean and cinnamon bark. The palate is mouth-filling and muscular - poached pear, caramel fudge, clove, and nutmeg burst forth with heat and depth, tempered by sweet cereal and orange zest. The oak is pronounced but well-integrated. Finish is long and warming, with peppery spice, dark chocolate shavings and a persistent honeyed malt.
Final Thought
A commanding expression of Irish whiskey's strength and sophistication. Ideal for seasoned enthusiasts seeking purity, structure and complexity - The Irishman Cask Strength is not merely a whiskey, but a statement in every sip.
