Vietti Brunate La Morra Barolo 2016 stands as a quintessential expression of one of Barolo’s most celebrated vintages. Renowned for its profound elegance and complexity, the 2016 vintage is widely regarded as one of the greatest Barolo years of the decade, characterized by ideal weather conditions that produced perfectly balanced grapes with exceptional concentration and aging potential.

This prestigious offering from Vietti is sourced from the coveted Brunate vineyard in La Morra, a site famed for its unique terroir of limestone-rich soils and optimal sun exposure. These factors contribute to the wine’s distinctive aromatic profile, featuring intense notes of red cherries, wild raspberries, and delicate floral nuances. On the palate, it reveals a mesmerizing structure marked by silky tannins, vibrant acidity, and layered flavors of spice, earth, and subtle hints of licorice.

Already gaining attention among collectors, the 2016 Brunate is tightening in supply, underscoring its rising desirability and investment potential. Carefully aged to showcase the vineyard’s terroir and Vietti’s winemaking mastery, this Barolo promises remarkable longevity and will continue to evolve beautifully over the coming decades.

Perfectly suited for enthusiasts who appreciate classic Piedmontese wines, the Vietti Brunate La Morra Barolo 2016 delivers a refined and powerful tasting experience that embodies the prestige of the Barolo appellation. Reviews

The 2016 Barolo Brunate is a powerful, vertical wine endowed with tremendous explosive energy and intensity. Crushed flowers, mint, spice and dried flowers open up in the glass, but it is the wine's energy that really elevates it into the stratosphere. In the glass, the 2016 is dark, somber and full of the sepia-toned nuances that are such signatures of this great Barolo vineyard. This is the first vintage that includes Vietti's newest parcel in Brunate. Perhaps more importantly, though, the 2016 is the first vintage in which French oak is minimal. This is a stunning vintage for the Brunate.
Vietti's Brunate plots sit on the La Morra side of this cru. Fermented in stainless steel then transferred directly to large oak casks for ageing, it offers engaging and penetrating aromas of cedar, red cherry, blood orange, sage blossom and rose. The palate demonstrates the austere personality of Brunate and will require a few years in bottle to unfurl. Dense and layered with profound depth, chewy tannins and persistent red berries, this is a fantastically complete wine.
